LWAY is an initiative and result of its founders traveling experiences. Dr. Lalit Gangurde
is a founder and CEO of LWAY. He did his master's degree from the University of Pune, Pune, India then He has worked as Research Assistant in National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India. He has a Ph.D. from the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, and worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware, United States of America.
During his traveling experiences, He realized that the traveling services at some cities, towns, and villages are still not organized properly in India. The drivers are not verified, the rate structures are not defined properly, safety and security are not given, no proper billing is given and a lot of bargaining and conflict happens among travel agents, drivers, and passengers before confirming the trips and after completion of the trips on the final trip payment. So there is still a huge scope for improvement in this industry. During his stay in the USA, he found that the majority of people have to buy cars as public transportation is limited in some areas there too and these car owners use only one seat in their cars while traveling to their workplaces. In India, it's the same case for bikes majorly and cars to some extent. After seeing these two cases more closely he got the idea that if we can fill those seats of cars and bikes for the people traveling in the same direction then it’s extra earning for the vehicle owners and extra saving for the travelers.
